Total Knee Replacement Surgical Video

The decision to have orthopaedic surgery requires serious consideration. The OrthoInfo Orthopaedic Surgery Video Series for Patients has been developed specifically for patients to help them learn more about common orthopaedic surgical procedures.

If simple treatments like medications and using walking supports no longer relieve knee arthritis symptoms, you may want to consider surgery. Knee replacement surgery is an effective procedure to relieve pain, correct leg deformity, and help you resume everyday activities.

In this video, Dr. Stuart Fischer, editor-in-chief of OrthoInfo, performs total knee replacement surgery. Note that the procedure shown is only one of many techniques used to perform a total knee replacement.

This video is actual surgical footage recorded in an operating room and may not be suitable for all viewers.
